A special run is the fastest transport solution in road transport: one vehicle is provided exclusively for your shipment and runs without a hub, without transhipment and without co-loading directly from the collection address to the recipient. Same-day delivery is possible depending on distance; on long routes we deploy a two-driver crew so that the truck runs virtually non-stop within the driving-time rules.
Speed Logistics dispatches special runs around the clock – from the sprinter van with 3.5 t for urgent single pallets to the 40-t articulated truck for complete production lines. The price is naturally above groupage or part load, but in return you get maximum speed, a fixed time window and zero transhipment risk for sensitive goods.
When is a special run worthwhile?
- Line stoppage looms: spare parts or raw material must reach production today
- Fixed deadlines: fair build-up, machine commissioning or contractually agreed delivery windows

Express freight overnight and same-day
Two scenarios shape the daily routine: in same-day transport the driver collects within a few hours and delivers the same day – realistic for distances up to a few hundred kilometres. In the overnight special run, loading takes place in the evening and delivery the next morning, for example express freight to Lyon overnight or the spare-part delivery from Berlin to the plant in Milan. With a two-driver crew even 1,000 km and more are feasible in one go. Tell us the latest delivery time – we calculate backwards and name the necessary loading date.
Process: from enquiry to delivery
You call or send the key data – collection location, destination, packing pieces, latest delivery deadline. Our dispatch team checks vehicle availability and gives you, within a few hours (in acute cases considerably faster), a fixed price with a binding time window. After release the vehicle goes straight to loading; you receive status updates from loading to the signed delivery, traceable by GPS tracking. As non-binding orientation, special runs move, depending on distance, vehicle size and urgency, often within a guide value of around €500–4,000. Short-notice changes too – for example a new unloading point during the trip – dispatch implements directly with the driver.
Vehicles and crew
For every shipment size the right vehicle is ready: sprinter vans and box vans for express freight up to around 1.5 t, curtainside and box vehicles in the 7.5-t and 12-t segment as well as articulated trucks up to 40 t. On long-haul routes we dispatch a two-driver crew so that driving-time breaks do not endanger the deadline – compliant with the EU social rules and the Mobility Package. The dispatch team works multilingually and remains your direct line to the vehicle throughout the trip.
Direct transports internationally and to non-EU countries
Special runs do not end at the EU border: we run direct transports to Türkiye, North Africa or the Middle East too – including complete customs clearance, so that the speed of the direct run is not lost at the customs office. On request we handle the delivery door to door from EXW to DDP.
