The euro pallet (EUR pallet, 80 × 120 cm) is the standard dimension in groupage and full-load traffic – and yet pallet shipping is not all the same. In the groupage network every pallet is transloaded several times, lead times are only guide values, and sensitive goods carry the risk. Speed Logistics instead runs euro pallets as direct transport: one vehicle loads at your site and runs without transloading to the consignee – from a single pallet to the full load.
This pays off whenever timing, goods value or sensitivity matter: production material that keeps a line running, high-value technology or an urgent spare-parts pallet. You receive a fixed-price quote within a few hours and a dispatch team reachable in person around the clock.
From one pallet to the full load
- 1–4 euro pallets: transport in a Sprinter or van (3.5 t), ideal for urgent part quantities
- 5–17 pallets: rigid truck or smaller truck, depending on weight and lane
- Full load: up to 33 euro pallet slots in the 40-tonne articulated truck (non-stackable, single-layer)
- Add-on load possible if your date leaves leeway and the route fits
Process of pallet shipping
You state the number of pallets, weight, stackability, loading and unloading point as well as the date. Within a few hours you receive the fixed price; after release we dispatch the vehicle and coordinate the time window with sender and consignee. Pickup is possible the same day depending on availability. During the run the dispatch team stays your direct contact – up to the receipted delivery with a CMR consignment note on international transports.
Vehicles, tail lift and load securing
Not every loading point has a ramp: on request a vehicle with tail lift and pallet truck comes, so the euro pallet can also be taken over and delivered at ground level. The load is secured with lashing straps and anti-slip mats, and sensitive or high-value pallets get premium handling with edge protectors and documented handover. When packing, make sure to avoid overhang: goods protruding beyond the pallet edge are the most common damage pattern in pallet shipping and can easily be avoided with a suitable packing method.
Across Europe and to non-EU countries – including customs
Euro pallets run with Speed Logistics across Europe as a direct run, e.g. to France, Italy or Poland. For non-EU countries such as Türkiye, North Africa or the Middle East we additionally take on the customs clearance from EXW to DDP – export declaration, transit procedure and import at the consignee from a single source. Costs depend on the lane, number of pallets, weight and deadline pressure; you receive a transparent fixed price without hidden surcharges.
Typical shipments on euro pallets
What travels on euro pallets is as varied as industry itself: production material and supplier parts in plant traffic, palletised carton goods for retail, machine components and spare parts, printed matter ex print shop or trade-fair material to the setup date. For the calculation, besides the number of pallets, above all weight and stackability count: non-stackable goods occupy a full slot, stackable pallets use the load space twice over.
Important for your enquiry are therefore three details: number and height of pallets, gross weight per pallet and the question of whether stacking is allowed. Add to that special features of the loading point – ramp or tail lift, forklift available or not. With these key data, the Speed Logistics dispatch team calculates the right vehicle and gives you the fixed price within a few hours.
