Freight Forwarding for the Chemical Industry – ADR Dangerous Goods Transports of All Classes

Speed Logistics moves products of the chemical industry ADR-compliant across all classes 1 to 9 as a direct transport without transhipment – packaged dangerous goods on pallets, liquid chemicals in tankers, Class 9 lithium batteries – with trained drivers and a cross-check of the safety data sheets before departure.

Chemical transports forgive no mistakes: incorrectly declared dangerous goods, incomplete transport papers or an untrained driver stop the shipment at the latest at the roadside check. Speed Logistics transports products of the chemical industry – from acids and alkalis to paints and coatings to lithium batteries – ADR-compliant across all classes 1 to 9, as a direct transport without transhipment – across Europe and to non-EU countries. Chemical-related goods without a dangerous goods classification, such as additives, granulates and empty containers, we also carry to the same quality standard.

You receive your fixed-price quote within a few hours, including CMR insurance and live GPS tracking. Our multilingual dispatch team is available 24/7 and accompanies every dangerous goods transport from the review of the safety data sheets to the documented delivery.

Dangerous goods transports across all ADR classes

Before every transport we check the UN number, packing group and mixed-loading prohibitions and provide the vehicle and driver accordingly:

  • Packaged dangerous goods in drums, IBCs and dangerous-goods boxes on pallets – secured and labelled ADR-compliant
  • Liquid products in tankers with 25–30 m³ capacity for acids, alkalis and solvents
  • Lithium cells and batteries (Class 9) with compliant labelling and documentation
  • ADR-trained drivers with a valid training certificate and complete vehicle equipment
  • Non-dangerous chemical goods such as additives, granulates and packaging – to the same quality standard

Safety and compliance in chemical transport

Our procedures are geared to the requirements of the chemical industry, as also assessed in SQAS reviews: documented transport release, clean transport documents per ADR 5.4, checked load securing and clear emergency contacts. Before you place the order we cross-check the safety data sheet and the declaration – any discrepancies we clarify with your dangerous goods safety adviser before the vehicle rolls.

In the event of an incident the lines are short too: our dispatch team knows the emergency contacts and the load content for every shipment and can respond with immediate information capability. This transparency is what chemical companies expect from their logistics partners – we provide it as standard, not as an extra.

Process: from the safety data sheet to delivery

  • Enquiry with product, UN number, quantity, packaging, loading and unloading points
  • Review of ADR classification, equipment and route by our dispatch team
  • Fixed-price quote usually within a few hours – including all dangerous goods surcharges
  • Loading with documented load securing, transport with live GPS tracking
  • Delivery with a signed CMR consignment note and complete transport documentation

Urgent chemical transports we dispatch as express direct runs: if a production line is at a standstill at your customer because an additive or intermediate product is missing, we provide an ADR-compliant vehicle at short notice – from the van for small containers to the articulated truck for a full load. The direct transport without transhipment reduces not only the transit time but also the number of handling points at which dangerous goods have to be moved.

Chemical transports to non-EU countries including customs

For exports to Türkiye, North Africa, the Middle East or Central Asia we handle, alongside the ADR-compliant transport, the complete customs clearance – from EXW to DDP, including T1/T2 transit procedure. For sanction-relevant destinations we check the applicable sanctions and export control situation in advance and carry only permitted goods. Costs depend on the dangerous goods class, weight, lane and time window; express and special-equipment options are itemised separately in the fixed-price quote. Send us your transport data – we will get back to you shortly with a solid quote.

Frequently asked questions: Chemical Industry

Which ADR classes does Speed Logistics transport?

We transport dangerous goods across all ADR classes 1 to 9 – from flammable liquids to corrosive substances to Class 9 lithium batteries. Before every transport we check the UN number, packing group and mixed-loading prohibitions and provide ADR-trained drivers with complete vehicle equipment. We also check mixed shipments of several classes in advance for mixed-loading prohibitions.

What information do you need for a dangerous goods quote?

For a solid fixed-price quote we need the product name, UN number, ADR class and packing group, quantity and type of packaging as well as loading and unloading points with the requested date. The safety data sheet helps with the review. You usually receive the quote within a few hours. For mixed shipments, a list per item with the details mentioned is sufficient.

Do you also carry liquid chemicals in tankers?

Yes. For acids, alkalis and solvents we use tankers with 25 to 30 m³ capacity. We agree the suitability of the tank material and the previous load with you before you place the order, so that product purity and ADR compliance are guaranteed throughout. We also dispatch part quantities and recurring tanker services to your requirements.

Do you transport lithium batteries and cells?

Yes. Lithium-ion and lithium-metal batteries we carry as Class 9 dangerous goods with compliant labelling, tested packaging and complete transport papers. This applies to new goods as well as to batteries in equipment or apparatus – each under the applicable UN number. Please discuss damaged batteries or batteries destined for disposal with our dispatch team in advance.

Are dangerous goods transports to non-EU countries possible?

Yes. We run ADR-compliant chemical transports to Türkiye, North Africa and the Middle East, among others – including full customs clearance from EXW to DDP and T1/T2 transit procedure. For sanction-relevant countries we check the export and sanctions situation in advance and carry only permitted goods.

How is load securing documented for chemical transports?

Loading is carried out according to the ADR requirements and the rules of load securing; drums, IBCs and pallets are stowed form-fit and lashed. The driver documents the securing, the transport papers per ADR 5.4 accompany the shipment, and via GPS tracking you follow the transport through to the signed delivery.

Which mistakes stop a dangerous goods transport at a check?

The most critical are goods that are incorrectly declared or carry the wrong UN number, incomplete transport papers, a driver who is not ADR-trained and disregarded mixed-loading prohibitions. Before every transport Speed Logistics checks the UN number, packing group and mixed-loading prohibitions and cross-checks the safety data sheet and the declaration before the vehicle rolls.

Why does Speed Logistics cross-check the safety data sheet and the declaration before departure?

Incorrectly declared dangerous goods, incomplete papers or an untrained driver stop the shipment at the latest at the roadside check – and in an incident, split-second information capability counts. We clarify any discrepancies in advance with your dangerous goods safety adviser; our dispatch team knows the emergency contacts and load content for every shipment and can react immediately.
