Open or closed: the right transport
For everyday vehicles and short distances, open transport is the economical choice. High-value vehicles travel better closed:
- Open transport – cost-efficient for used cars, fleet vehicles and transfers
- Closed transport – protection from weather, stone chips and prying eyes; first choice for sports cars, classics and prototypes
- Non-roadworthy vehicles – loading by winch by arrangement
Lashing is done over the wheels with wheel chocks and lashing straps – so the chassis stays unloaded and the body and towing points remain untouched. For classics with sensitive paint we document the vehicle condition at pickup and handover with a report. For electric vehicles please state the charge level and any special features; for vehicles with very low ground clearance we use flat loading ramps so front spoilers do not scrape during loading.
Process: from enquiry to handover
After order confirmation we coordinate pickup and delivery windows with both sides. At pickup the vehicle registration or vehicle documents, keys and the documented condition are handed over; during transport your shipment remains trackable via dispatch. At the destination the handover takes place against a report – on request to a named person with identity check, e.g. for high-value vehicles. Fixed handover dates are no coincidence: the vehicle travels as direct transport, not in groupage traffic with open delivery windows.

Complete vehicle documents and a clarified ownership situation are important; which papers your lane specifically requires we clarify before the transport starts, so the vehicle does not get stuck at the border.
