Bosnia and Herzegovina is not an EU member – every shipment crosses the EU external border and needs proper customs clearance. Speed Logistics runs the Germany–Bosnia route as a dedicated direct run via Austria/Slovenia and Croatia: around 1,300 kilometres, transit time 2–3 business days, delivery in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Tuzla or any other address in the country.
From the export declaration through the transit procedure to import clearance, we handle the complete process from EXW to DDP. You receive your fixed-price quote within a few hours – including all customs services, without hidden extra costs.
Scope of services for Bosnia transports
- Direct run without transloading – part and full loads from the Sprinter (3.5 t) to the 40-t articulated truck
- Door-to-door incl. customs – export, T1 transit procedure and import clearance from a single source
- Machinery transport – for mechanical engineering, timber and metal operations, with a tail lift or truck-mounted forklift on request
- Express options – for fixed production deadlines we dispatch with two drivers
Process: from enquiry to delivery in Bosnia
After your enquiry with the key details you receive a fixed-price quote within a few hours. We collect the goods anywhere in Germany, prepare the export declaration and open the T1 transit procedure. The main leg runs via Croatia; import takes place at crossings such as Slavonski Brod/Brod in the north or Bijača towards Herzegovina – depending on the target region. After customs clearance the same truck delivers directly to the consignee, with proof of receipt and status updates en route.
Customs clearance: EUR.1 saves real money
Between the EU and Bosnia and Herzegovina the Stabilisation and Association Agreement applies: goods of EU preferential origin can be imported at a reduced duty rate or duty-free with a EUR.1 movement certificate (or an origin declaration on the invoice). We check with you before departure whether your goods qualify for preference and compile the documents: commercial invoice, packing list, EUR.1, T1. This way you avoid unnecessary duties and waiting times at the border. For trade-fair and return shipments, an ATA Carnet or temporary admission is a good option.
Typical goods on the Bosnia and Herzegovina relation
German exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina are predominantly capital and intermediate goods: production machinery and tools, semi-finished metal products, components for the automotive supply industry, as well as equipment for timber and furniture operations. In the opposite direction we regularly carry furniture, metal and textile products from Bosnian manufacturing to German clients – many operations work in contract manufacturing for Western European brands and need reliable weekly services. Such shuttle services we set up with fixed departure days and continuous customs and preference handling in both directions. For trade fairs and assembly assignments we arrange temporary imports and exports; for urgent single shipments, dedicated Sprinter direct runs with transit times from two days including border clearance.
Characteristics of the Bosnia and Herzegovina relation
The consignee structure is industrial in character: suppliers for mechanical engineering, timber processing, the metal and textile industries – often with plants off the main routes. We plan for mountain roads and winter conditions in the country's interior as well as limited unloading equipment at the consignee; where needed, a vehicle with a tail lift or truck-mounted forklift is used. Return loads – such as furniture or metal components towards Germany – we arrange including the EU import handling. We quote prices as non-binding guide values depending on the route and lead time, binding with your fixed-price quote.
