Enclosed Car Transport – Vehicles Carried Protected and Discreetly

With enclosed car transport, the vehicle travels in a fully enclosed premium trailer – protected from stone chips, weather, UV radiation and prying eyes. First choice for classic cars, sports cars, prototypes and new cars that must arrive without transport marks; fewer vehicles fit in an enclosed trailer, hence a higher price per unit.

A classic car on its way to auction, a prototype to the trade fair, a new car with a six-figure list price: such vehicles do not belong on an open car transporter. With Speed Logistics' enclosed car transport, your vehicle travels in a fully enclosed premium trailer – protected from stone chips, weather, UV radiation and prying eyes. You receive the fixed-price quote within a few hours; we run Europe-wide and, on request, all the way to non-EU countries including customs clearance.

Enclosed transport is the first choice for collector vehicles, sports cars, prototypes and pre-series models as well as new vehicles that must arrive at the consignee without any transport marks. The only structural disadvantage: fewer vehicles fit in an enclosed trailer than on open double-deck transporters, so the price per unit is correspondingly higher – in return, every vehicle receives maximum protection and retains its value.

Protection that open transporters do not offer

  • No stone chips, no weather: paint, glass and add-on parts stay untouched by grit, rain, hail and road salt
  • No UV exposure: important for sensitive paintwork, wraps and the interior of collector vehicles
  • Climate-stable conditions: the enclosed body buffers temperature fluctuations and condensation
  • Discretion: prototypes, camouflaged test cars and high-value vehicles are never visible from outside
  • Securing with soft padding systems: soft lashing over the wheel rim, padding boxes and trained handling prevent pressure marks

How the enclosed vehicle transport works

You give us the vehicle type, condition (drivable or not), pickup and destination location and the desired period. We dispatch the suitable enclosed trailer and coordinate the handover dates with both sides – on request as a fixed date, such as for the auction or trade fair start. On takeover, the driver documents the vehicle condition in a handover protocol with photos; loading takes place via flat drive-on ramps, also for lowered vehicles, and non-drivable vehicles we winch on with a cable. During transport the journey stays traceable via GPS tracking, and at the destination the documented handover takes place to authorised persons.

Insurance and value transport

Every enclosed car transport is insured; for high-value vehicles we agree the insured value individually before the start of the journey, so that the cover matches the actual vehicle value. Combined with our premium handling for sensitive goods, enclosed transport is thereby also suitable for one-off pieces, restoration objects and vehicles of collector value. For the value assessment, a current appraisal or the purchase receipt is usually sufficient; for especially valuable vehicles we agree cover and transport process with you in detail in advance – before the vehicle is moved.

Lanes: Germany, Europe, non-EU

We run enclosed car transports within Germany and across Europe as a direct run without reloading – for example to auctions, trade fairs, events or between sites. Non-EU lanes such as Türkiye or the Middle East are also possible including export and customs clearance, door to door from EXW to DDP. We give you the fixed price per lane bindingly in advance – call us on +49 (0)30 346 467 850. For dealers, auction houses and vehicle collections with regular transport needs we set up fixed processes: stored contacts, well-rehearsed handover procedures and agreed terms, so that every further transfer starts with a short phone call instead of a new round of coordination.

Frequently asked questions: Enclosed Car Transport

For which vehicles is an enclosed car transport worthwhile?

Enclosed transport is recommended for classic and collector vehicles, sports cars, prototypes and pre-series models as well as high-value new vehicles. Wherever stone chips, weather, UV radiation or public visibility pose a risk, the enclosed premium trailer is clearly superior to the open car transporter – the extra price is in good proportion to the vehicle value.

What distinguishes enclosed from open car transport?

In open transport the vehicle is exposed to grit, rain, road salt and prying eyes; in return more vehicles fit on one tour. The enclosed trailer protects fully from stone chips, weather and UV exposure, offers climate-stable conditions and discretion – with fewer vehicles per journey and a correspondingly higher price per unit.

Is my vehicle insured during transport?

Yes, every enclosed car transport from Speed Logistics is insured. For high-value vehicles the insured value is agreed individually before the start of the journey, and the vehicle condition is documented at takeover and handover in a protocol with photos. This way the entire transport chain is seamlessly secured and cleanly traceable in the event of a claim.

Can non-drivable vehicles also be transported enclosed?

Yes. Simply let us know with the enquiry that the vehicle is not drivable – for example a restoration object or an accident vehicle. The dispatch team then plans in suitable loading technology such as a cable winch and flat drive-on ramps. Even lowered sports cars are loaded into the trailer without damage via shallow ramp angles.

How discreet is an enclosed vehicle transport?

In the enclosed trailer the vehicle is never visible from outside – neither en route nor during breaks or at service areas. This makes the transport the standard solution for prototypes, camouflaged test cars and vehicles of prominent owners. Speed Logistics coordinates handover locations and times discreetly and directly with those involved.

Does Speed Logistics also run enclosed car transports internationally?

Yes. We run enclosed car transports across Europe as a direct run without reloading – for example to auctions, trade fairs or between company sites. Non-EU lanes such as Türkiye or the Middle East are also possible, including complete export and customs clearance door to door from EXW to DDP with papers prepared in advance.

What should I bear in mind when enquiring about a vehicle transport?

State the vehicle type, condition (drivable or not) and special features such as lowering. The loading technology depends on this: non-drivable vehicles are winched on with a cable, and lowered sports cars are loaded without damage via shallow ramp angles. For a high vehicle value, the insured value is agreed individually in advance.

Why is enclosed transport the better choice for a high vehicle value?

The enclosed trailer protects paint, glass and interior fully from stone chips, weather and UV exposure and keeps the vehicle invisible from outside. Although fewer vehicles fit on one tour than in open transport, the extra price per unit is in good proportion to the preserved vehicle value for collector, sports and new vehicles.
