Serbia is not an EU member – every transport from Germany to Belgrade, Novi Sad or Niš is thus a non-EU business with an export declaration, transit procedure and import clearance. Speed Logistics takes exactly this effort off your hands: we run the route as a direct run via the Hungary–Subotica corridor, around 1,400 kilometres, with a transit time of 2–3 working days including customs clearance.
You send us the key data of your shipment and receive within a few hours a fixed-price quotation for the complete chain – from collection in Germany through border clearance to cleared delivery at the recipient, on request from EXW to DDP.

Customs clearance Germany–Serbia in detail
Serbia is a member of the common transit procedure: the shipment runs with a T1/T2 document through the EU and Hungary through to clearance in Serbia – this significantly speeds up the border passage at Subotica/Horgoš. Thanks to the trade agreement between the EU and Serbia, many goods with a proof of origin (EUR.1 or declaration of origin) are duty-reduced or duty-free. We prepare the export declaration, open the transit procedure, check your trade papers and coordinate the import clearance with the recipient or their customs agent. This way you avoid standing times at the border – the most common reason for delays on this route.
Route and transit time
The main leg runs via Austria or the Czech Republic to Hungary and via the Horgoš border crossing near Subotica into Serbia. Belgrade we reach usually on the second to third working day after collection, Novi Sad often faster, and Niš and southern Serbia on the third day. With a double crew and customs papers cleared in advance, shorter transit times are also achievable.
Industries: automotive, mechanical engineering, agriculture
Serbia has established itself as a manufacturing location for automotive suppliers and mechanical engineering; accordingly, we run series components, tools and plant parts in both directions. In addition come agricultural technology and trade goods. For plants with time-window delivery we plan the delivery on time – the customs clearance is timed so that it does not slow down production.
Direct run instead of groupage on the Balkan route
In groupage traffic towards the Western Balkans, goods are transhipped several times and often wait for days for consolidated departures – with non-EU shipments comes the added risk that an entire consolidated load stands at the border if the papers of a single consignment are missing. With our direct run your shipment carries its documents itself: one vehicle, one transit procedure, one clearance. This makes the transit time plannable and reduces transhipment damage to zero.
For regular traffic to Serbia – for instance weekly supplies to a plant in Belgrade or Novi Sad – we set up fixed departures with a well-practised customs routine. We integrate return loads from Serbian suppliers into round trips and thereby improve the conditions in both directions. Short-notice additional quantities we cover at any time via our 24/7 dispatch.
